A year to the day since the last release, ADRIFT 4 release 51 is now available. This just has a few small bugfixes.

DNS change

I have changed DNS providers due to my moving home. This may cause some of you issues as the DNS record propogates around the Internet, but the chances are, if you're reading this then all is fine.

I have moved the ADRIFT website onto a new server at 213.253.132.146. This is on a much faster connection to the Internet (100Mbps) so should give a better experience to users on faster connections.

I have also taken the opportunity to upgrade the forum to the latest software.

Please let me know if anything is broken.

Well it seems the last release didn't catch all the problems I created with release 47, so here goes another attempt. Hopefully that's 3rd time lucky. And if not, at least we might get onto a nice round number!

There seems to have been a problem with my DSL modem, so the website was down for a while. Anyway, after a hard reboot things seem to be up and running again now.

It has also come to notice that a rather unfortunate bug has made it into Release 48, so if you were thinking about downloading it then please hold off for now - I'll try and get a fixed release up shortly. If you have already downloaded it, you can roll back to Release 46 here: Generator and Runner.

So it's 2 years for a release, then you get another 2 days later. Just like buses but on a larger scale! Well, that'll teach me to produce broken code.

This should fix the greyed out button problem from release 47, plus a few other issues.

Well, it's 2 years to the day since the last ADRIFT release, but there's finally a new version to download. The main reason for this release is to give better support when running under Windows Vista, but there are a few more bug fixes. Full details can be found in the release notes.

I have upgraded this news page slightly, so it now also outputs in RSS format. So for all you people who like subscribing to feeds, subscribe away!

This may actually replace the ADRIFT Yahoo email group as it seems a more efficient way of notification rather than mass emailing.

Apologies for the downtime today - I was transferring the DNS entries to the new static address, but unfortunately the destination nameservers were not ready and so the ADRIFT domain dropped off the internet.

Apologies for the additional downtime, but I've now put in a new network card and everything should be back to normal. I took this opportunity to double the RAM in the server too, so might make things run a little better too.

Well, the site's been down for a few hours, but this time it was a network card which decided to give up. I've temporarily replaced it with another card and hope to sort it properly tomorrow. :-/

I've updated the Adventures and Bug List pages, so that any selections that are made are remembered, so if you have a 'favourite' view, it will remain the default for as long as you're logged in.

I have also added an option in Profile so you can choose the number of entries in the Mini tables on the left of the screen.

I've added an option within Profile to allow you to redefine the width of the ADRIFT website, in case you're not happy with the default width of 800.

I've added the Recent Downloads to the main Adventures sort list, so the full list of adventures sorted by recent downloads can be viewed.

In addition, all the sorts that are by downloads now show the actual number downloaded.

I've changed the "Popular Adventures" mini-table so that it now shows the most adventures downloaded over the past fortnight.

I've added an option to the Profile section to allow you to specify the number of Adventures (and News items) to be shown on screen at any time.

I've also updated the Previous/Next options on the Adventures and News pages so you can click on page links, and also added a page location at the top.

I've finally gotten around to adding Categories to the adventures, so the list can be filtered.

I've also finally gotten around to putting up links to ADRIFT 3.90 (the Older link at the bottom of the Download page)

The 'forgotten password' facility has now been enabled too!

I've now re-added the facility to request registration keys. This can be found on the request page.

It is more sophisticated than the last version and runs off the database, but the data behind it may not be bang up to date. Any problems with it, just give me a shout!

Well, that`s the website finally back up. Someone managed to install a root-kit onto the box last week, so I`ve had to rebuild the whole server. Well, there's a lesson if ever there was one!

Okay, it's taken long enough, but I thought I'd launch the new website as it is. There are still a few features to copy across from the old site (most of which should still be operational just in case) and still some bits that haven't been completed, but most of it should be there.
